Behind every successful event is a team of dog-tired
but content and passionate event management professionals, who can think of no other life than this.
The Filmfare Awards night…
Sunburn Music Festival…
Femina Miss India…
The Times Literature Festival…
The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival…
The Standard Chartered Marathon…
All these blockbuster events, other than their popularity and scale, have one thing in common — hundreds, and at times thousands, of event management professionals who work tirelessly for weeks to create the best possible experience for the guests, the stars, the sponsors, the channels, the stakeholders, and, of course, the spectators and at-home viewers.
Event marketing includes, but is not limited to, people-, space-, and resource- management, branding, set design and marketing. It also involves studying the intricacies of a brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually executing the event.
Event management, as an industry, is growing at an exponential rate. Events need people, and this is where this industry receives recognition from the government and the powers that be. In fact, governments, institutions and individuals have realized the power and scope of the events industry, what with a plethora of shows, concerts, festivals, food shows, talks, conferences, awards and carnivals at local, national and international levels. With our nation in the mode of youth empowerment via vocational courses, we, at EMDI, are proud to contribute in this endeavor in the best way possible. There are several career options within this field, with well-qualified professionals being absorbed in roles ranging from Account Planning, Concept and Creative Design to Client Servicing, Event Production, Set Design, Operations and Logistics Management.
Practical industry experience
I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand ~ Confucius
The focus of any program at EMDI goes way beyond simply imparting knowledge. For us, balancing theory and practical applications is sacrosanct. We, at EMDI, ensure that our students are completely industry ready, with requisite training, knowledge, skill, execution capabilities and well-honed creativity. For our Event Management Course, we achieve this balance in several ways. We have top industry professionals coming in for guest lectures and discussions. To understand their chosen field in greater depth, our students go on regular site visits and attend industry relevant workshops. We ensure that our Event Management students assist in conceptualizing, planning and executing events – big and small. They also assist, in other aspects, for some of the biggest events India has seen, including the coveted Barclays Premier League, The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, The Times Literature Festival, The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and televised events like Dance India Dance and Bigg Boss, among many others. Our students have helped organize popular music fests such as NH7 Weekender, EVC and Sunburn.
We completely understand that without actual work experience, the transition from being a student to a professional can be very difficult. To make this transition easier, our students also get internship opportunities with some of the biggest companies in the sector, including Percept India, UTV Motion Pictures, Fountainhead Promotions & Events Pvt. Ltd., Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Only Much Louder Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (OML).
With so much experience and exposure, it’s no surprise that our students have been absorbed by some of the very best companies in the country such as:
- Percept Limited
- Seventy Media Group
- Star India Pvt. Ltd.
- UTV Motion Pictures
- Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
- Oaks Management Company Private Limited (OMCPL)

It is my pleasure to spend time with the students of EMDI. They are enthusiastic and have a lot of interesting questions on celebrity management. I have always enjoyed interacting with them and I wish them all the very best in their future endeavors.

From the moment I came to EMDI, I was met with nothing but energy and enthusiasm. Coming from a business background, I stepped into the world of events three years ago through my start-up, and decided to add some science to the experience I had gathered over the years. The faculty is highly skilled, and provided us with a strong insight into the industry. At EMDI, I stood to benefit by working on some prestigious and exciting projects and also network with some of the finest professional minds while at work. The institute is strategically placed in the heart of Mumbai and makes it easy for students, both local and outstation, to commute. Besides, I love the fact how the student population at EMDI is so diverse; quite a blend of fresh graduates, professionals with work experience and, of course, some budding entrepreneurs to watch out for! EMDI is certainly more than just an institute!
Kshitij Sachdeva (Event Management)
I came all the way from New Delhi to Mumbai with a dream. EMDI helped me achieve that dream in a very short span of time. The event industry is all about hard work and dedication. If you have it in you to give these two things, then nobody can stop you from climbing the ladder of success. EMDI helped me meet tons of people from all walks of life. And today I can say that I have the best set of people and friends in my life! I completed all the work and tasks given to me with complete dedication, and made a lot of contacts so that I could work on many more events. I am currently interning with STAR India Pvt. Ltd. in their Events Network Team.
Rihant Anbu (Event Management)
When I first took up the PGDEMA course at EMDI, I wasn’t really sure if I was making the right choice, but in just a few months of being there, I was certain that the choice I had made was the right one. This course opened my eyes to not only the event industry, but also on how I should go about setting and achieving my goals. The course showed me what I need to do to set up my own event management company without missing out on the smallest of details, as well as keeping steady focus on the larger scheme of things. The institute showed me both, the background planning put into an event, and also showed me the on ground processes that take place during an event. It truly was a huge learning experience, one that I would never forget.
Bobby Broos (Event Management)
The right learning and grooming can help one lay a strong foundation for a promising career. There are very few institutions in India that have the capacity to give its students the learning and exposure that EMDI has given me. It feels great to be associated with such a reputed institute, to have received an opportunity to pursue my Post Graduation Diploma in Event Management and Activation program, which gave me opportunity to learn and have on field experiences. Each experience here has taken me to a higher level of growth and helped me become a better leader and a human being.
Rohit George (Event Management)
I completed my undergraduate degree with a major in Computer Science Engineering. I had offers from other institutes. However, I chose to study at EMDI because it stood out above the rest. I am glad I took this career decision. I loved the hands-on approach the course had. I have gained immense knowledge through participating in and organizing various events and working with dynamic teams. The experience has me better prepared to get into the industry.
Yash Joshi (Event Management)
Thank you EMDI for allowing me to be part of this amazing experience. It has really reinforced my passion towards the events industry and given me access to so many industry stalwarts. The course has helped me develop a deeper understanding of working with multiple organizations and coordinating events.
Swapnil Gupta (Event Management)
I want to thank EMDI for giving me an opportunity to work on multiple Events. I have gained immense experience through this course and it has helped me turn my passion into my profession.
Diane Dutton (Event Management)
EMDI gave me a chance to prove myself, guided me and provided me with numerous opportunities to understand and explore my hidden talents. I now have a job organizing one of India’s largest music festivals — the Enchanted Valley Carnival (EVC). Thank you, EMDI!
Roli Jain (Event Management)
It was a pleasure being a student at EMDI. The knowledge bank of the faculty, and the infrastructure, are both very impressive and make for a perfect learning environment. I worked really hard during events, which helped me develop worthwhile contacts. All this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of EMDI.
Shweta Desai (Event Management)
EMDI is a great platform for young students who want to get into the events industry. Organizing SWAT gave me an amazing insight into all aspects of managing an event. The comprehensive full time events course teaches you everything, right from event planning to execution, and entrepreneurship to creative thinking. I had the best experience studying at EMDI, and I want to thank the staff for their support.
